You will begin by learning the basics of configuration management and where Puppet fits in to your DevOps toolchain. After learning the basic principles of Puppet you will start learning how to write Puppet modules to manage system applications. The course is very language focussed and you will learn all of the latest language features, tips and tricks, best practices and more. By the end of this course you will be able to write advanced Puppet modules like a pro.


Module 1: Getting Started with Puppet

This module contains just over an hour of video content including slide presentations and terminal sessions that you can follow along to, we begin with a basic introduction to the concepts of configuration management and where Puppet fits in to your toolchain. We then look at Puppet resources, the building blocks of Puppet and how resources are used internally by Puppet to manage your configuration. We then introduce the Puppet language (DSL) and walk you through how to write Puppet resource as code, build Puppet modules and serve that configuration to your agent nodes.

Module 2: Mastering the Puppet Language

The second module contains over 3.5 hours of in-depth video tutorial and interactive onscreen demos giving you a deep dive into the Puppet language. Everything in this course is kept up to date with the very latest developments and you will the language to a very advanced level incorporating all of the newest Puppet features!

His DevOps journey started back in 2008 with Puppet and has helped numerous organisations implement Puppet, Ansible and Chef to automate their infrastructures, including IPC Media, BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation), Fidelity Investments and more.

    He joined Puppet Labs in 2012 as a Professional Services Engineer providing consultancy and training courses world-wide.

    Since leaving Puppet Labs, Craig founded his own consultancy company Enviatics and delivers training and consultancy services around Europe helping customers achieve automation success.

    He is well known within the open source community as a contributor and maintainer of several projects, and has given many conference talks at events worldwide.
